We have never mentioned any of our work with any current clients until the project is wrapped up; however, this is a special exception.  Our client, Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA), has been selected as a finalist in the Pepsi Refresh Campaign.  Each month, Pepsi selects organizations and projects working to “refresh the world” to compete for grants to fund their programs, and then allows the public to vote online to determine the winners.

Paralyzed Veterans of America has been selected to compete throughout the month of September for a $250,000 grant to help America’s brave disabled veterans rebuild their lives and recover their dreams through adaptive sports and recreation programs.  The grant would make a huge difference to the lives of PVA’s members (paralyzed veterans) — helping PVA make sure that the servicemen and women who have fought so valiantly and sacrificed so much for our country get the quality care and benefits they need and deserve!

From working with PVA over the past month or two, their entire team is extremely dedicated to helping its members.  Their passion for what they do is unmatched.  With the $250,000, PVA will continue engaging America’s veterans in adaptive sports to reignite each ones spirit.  “Competition, camaraderie, and the inspiration of achieving new goals in a wheelchair have immeasurable long-term health and fitness benefits.”  Specifically, the money will:

  • Provide grants to help paralyzed veterans attend National Veterans Wheelchair Games, the largest wheelchair sporting event in the USA;
  • Fund adaptive sports programs for bass fishing, trap shooting, bowling and billiards to reach more paralyzed veterans; and,
  • Develop, conduct and host 4 adaptive sports training clinics to instruct and train paralyzed veterans in adaptive sports.

Reef Light Client, Aurora Feint, Launches Social Gaming App for iPad

No Comments

We were excited to work with the guys at Aurora Feint back in 2009 and have been thrilled with their glowing success to-date.  Last week, they were featured in Tech Crunch for their release of Aurora Feint 3, “a free-to-play massively multi-player social gaming app based around virtual goods” for the new iPad.

Open Feint Logo

If you are not yet familiar with Aurora Feint 3 it is played via OpenFeint X, a social gaming platform which has become the standard for Apple devices and for which we designed their logo, website and icons for the iPhone app.  To see the work, please visit the Open Feint case study.

The people behind Aurora Feint have ambitions to dominate the market for gaming on mobile devices.  What began as a puzzle game for the iPhone has since developed into the social gaming platform known as OpenFeint which has attracted thousands of iPhone game and app developers to join its extensive community.  OpenFeint itself is the platform behind many of the games enjoyed on the iPhone and iPod Touch, which given the global success of the iPhone and now the new, hotly anticipated iPad, we know this company will continue to grow and enjoy great success in the future.

As always, it’s great to see our clients thriving!
